Sadakatsu Ikeda
Associate Professor Sadakatsu Ikeda is the Deputy Director of Tokyo Medical and Dental University Cancer Center (Japan). He is a board-certified medical oncologist and an expert on personalized cancer therapy, which involves making treatment decisions based on genetic abnormalities found within a patientsโ tumor.
Dr. Ikeda is a member of Moores Cancer Centers Molecular Tumor Board, which meets regularly to discuss genomic abnormalities and the best potential targeted therapies for individual patients.
Dr. Ikeda offers genomic profiling and targeted therapy across all types of cancer, but especially within gastrointestinal and urologic cancers, where he has experience caring for patients with prostate cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, testicular cancer, colon cancer, pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, liver cancer, and gallbladder cancer.
His research focuses on molecular profiling of tumors and the application of molecular targeted therapy. As an assistant professor of medicine, Dr. Ikeda is also involved in training residents and fellows at UC San Diego School of Medicine.He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Association for Cancer Research.
