Vital Signs and Measures

All measures, including the measures within the Vital Signs, are equally weighted.

Argentina has many of the essential foundations for personalised healthcare.

Argentina demonstrates a strong performance in AI initiatives. However, health information is a focus area that Argentina can improve on, specifically since its adequacy schemes for cross-border data transfers are not an area of strength when compared to other countries in the region. In addition, the factors, policies, and institutions that enable a country to fully leverage information and communication technologies (ICTs) are not as advanced in Argentina as they are in neighbouring countries. To improve its data infrastructure, Argentina should build on its strong strategy and use of electronic health records (EHRs) across primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare facilities. In addition, Argentina has several elements which could support the advancement of personalised healthcare, such as a high density of practising physicians, effective digitised public services and protections which enable patients to control their health data. However, there remains a need for a coherent policy, strategy, or plan that explicitly addresses personalised healthcare.
