Vital Signs and Measures

All measures, including the measures within the Vital Signs, are equally weighted.

Mexico has solid foundations for personalised healthcare.

Mexico has key elements in place for a successful personalised health system, including widespread use of electronic health records (EHRs) and patient access to their personal data. Also, Mexico has widely implemented telemedicine, leveraging technology and ensuring coordination with stakeholders to analyse the ethical implications of new advances in medicine. However, there is still room for improvement, notably, cancer registries and data infrastructure should be focus areas for growth. In addition, Mexico could increase investment in research and development (R&D) to better encourage innovation throughout the healthcare system. To facilitate personalised healthcare, further improvements are needed in healthcare coverage and internet access, as well as the populationโ€™s willingness to adopt connected health devices. Mexico has several strengths including active engagement of the academic community on personalised healthcare and the degree of willingness to undertake public-private partnerships.
