As a social innovator, Sjaak has always aimed to create a more equal and fair healthcare system that gives everyone, everywhere the access to the medicines they need. After a successful entrepreneurial career, he set out to dedicate his time towards social good. He founded TheSocialMedwork in 2015 with the sole mission to help patients all over the world to get access to the newest treatments not approved or available in their home countries. He is the co-founder and former CEO of myTomorrows and is a member of patient advocate groups such as the Abigail Alliance in Washington D.C. and Chicago based Cures Within Reach.
