Gau Churn-Shiouh

Executive Director of Center for Drug Evaluation, Taiwan and Adjunct Professor, School of Pharmacy, National Taiwan University

Dr. Churn-Shiouh Gau, Professor in Department of Pharmacy at National Taiwan University and former Executive Director of Center for Drug Evaluation, Taiwan. 

She has more than 20 years experience on drug evaluation specialized in CMC. She was the project leader for the establishing of national pharmacovigilance of Taiwan. Dr. Gau has published more that 50 research papers in the areas of drug safety, pharmacoepidemiology, and pharmaceutics.

Dr. Gau started leading the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) as Executive Director on April 1, 2011. CDE was established by Department of Health (DOH, now MOHW) in 1998, to assist the technical evaluation for market approval of drugs and medical devices.

Dr. Gau received her Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutics from the School of Pharmacy, University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, in 1992, after that she returned to the School of Pharmacy, National Taiwan University (NTU) as a faculty member. During Aug. 1996 to July 2000, she was appointed as the Director of the Department of Pharmacy, NTU Hospital, one of the largest university-affiliated medical centers in Taiwan.
